Practice Plus
When you are unwell out of our normal business hours, or if we have no appointment slots available for you on the day you contact us, currently you would need to attend the After-Hours clinic.
If you don't want to do this, and you do not require a face-to-face consultation, we can now offer a new virtual after-hours consultation service for our patients - Practice Plus.
This is run by NZ registered general practitioners, but is not connected to the Kaiapoi Medical Centre, or staffed by our doctors.
Appointments are available weekdays 5pm - 8pm, and weekends/public holidays 8am - 8pm.
Where a physical examination is not needed, more and more virtual consultations are taking place every day away from the surgery consulting rooms. Many of our patients are already taking up the option of phone consultations with our doctors during our normal working hours.
Of course, if you need to be seen face to face, or would prefer to still be seen at the After-Hours, this option is still available exactly as it is today, and our patients can still attend there as needed.

Methods of payment
On booking virtual appointments, you will be asked to enter your credit or debit card details, however your card will not be charged until your appointment is completed.
